Phillip Lim x Chivas Collective Shanghai Show

I had the pleasure of working backstage at the 3.1 Phillip Lim Chivas Collective show featuring his 2012 Fall Menswear collection.

The weekend was insane. I helped to do things like make the model boards, steam clothes, photoshop pictures, organize the racks, translate Chinese to the tailors and dressers,  dress the models and stand in the front row to collect the clothes of the performers.

Honestly it was the coolest, most fabulous night of my life despite how hectic it was the whole weekend. It was cool to be able witness the acute attention to detail that goes into every aspect of a runway show.

I was too nervous to introduce myself to Mr. Lim, but he was pleasant even when I asked him a stupid question with an obvious answer about where to post a picture. It was amazing to work with such a lovely and successful team.

Below are some pictures from the weekend (more to come later):

    1. shanghai? wowzers! i love it out there! i am def. going to try and come back and explore more since we were with maria and the rest of the phillip lim team majority of the time. i checked out your food photos on your other blog and i wish i was on all 'em dishes. while walking around the late nights/early mornings with the models i was snacking the hard-boiled (soy?) eggs and the wooden-skewer fish balls (i think it was fish?) from the corner stores. i couldn't find anything else except the telephone number to the mcdonald's delivery. (i did not want to eat mcdonalds!) i need to learn how to speak a bit of mandarin or cantonese before the next visit so i can find excellent food spots. i found a small, cool tea store near our hotel les suites orient bund on jinling east rd. and i left my jasmin and green tea there; i was so sad i left my tea since i spent $100 usd. yes. on tea alone. best of luck with everything! i can't wait to view some sweet photos. i have bookmarked your blogs so i will be visiting quite often. take it easy! - cb

  3. So glad you had a great time. Yes tea eggs and fish balls are a cheap staple here. For sure, learning some mandarin can help you out a bit. Sorry about your tea, that really sucks :( Thank you so much for bookmarking, I really appreciate it! Do you and the other Trickers have twitter btw?
